Ipsos UK Political Atlas collects social media mentions of elected Members of the Parliament with sources including public Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, local news websites, and many others. Developed AI-driven approaches are used for measuring candidate social favorability, main issue tagging and bot detection. Additionally, the Atlas measures volume associated with discussion of a specific candidate or issue, therefore providing immediate insight whether this conversation is becoming more relevant to potential voters. The Atlas excludes any mentions originating from outside of the constituency/region where the election is being held, in order to not over-inflate any particular sentiment that may not represent locally-held social media opinions.
